Sensitivity analysis applied to observable parameters in case of flammable gas dispersion modeling In emergency situation

Abstract

In case of flammable gas release, in order to bring a best adapted operational answer in emergency situation, it is necessary to determine with accuracy gas concentrations and finally safety distances. The expert in charge of modeling is faced with a major difficulty: few (or no) information. Therefore, for a given situation, the generation of different effect distances is possible. A sensitivity analysis was carried out in order to determine the most influential parameters on the estimation of safety distances. The goal was to identify the parameters which it is useless / useful to engage considerable efforts to recover a reliable value.
