Indeed, by collecting flammable substances, an ATEX may occur in the extraction network, a separation device or a fan. Whether dust or gases or vapours are considered, the risk that an ATEX can occur in networks and related equipment can be evaluated and reduced. It is therefore necessary to take into account the physical phenomena involved in the ATEX formation and the physical and chemical characteristics of the products. Once this risk is assessed, it is possible to classify remaining hazardous areas according to regulatory definitions.
